Mikotu 360mg

Indications:

Mycophenolic acid is indicated for the prevention of organ transplant rejection, particularly in kidney transplantation, as part of combination immunosuppressive therapy. It is the active form of mycophenolate and works by inhibiting inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH), thereby selectively blocking proliferation of T- and B-lymphocytes. Its key advantage is effective immunosuppression with improved gastrointestinal tolerability compared to mycophenolate mofetil, due to its enteric-coated formulation. This allows better patient adherence and sustained long-term therapy. In clinical practice, it is widely used in combination with tacrolimus or cyclosporine to reduce the risk of acute rejection and improve graft survival. Its predictable pharmacokinetics and targeted mechanism make it a reliable and essential component of modern transplant regimens.
