Mycophenolate Mofetil, USP 250mg

Indications:

Mycophenolate mofetil is indicated for the prevention of organ transplant rejection, particularly in kidney, liver, and heart transplantation, as part of combination immunosuppressive therapy. It works by inhibiting inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH), a key enzyme required for lymphocyte proliferation, thereby selectively suppressing T- and B-cell activity. Its main advantage is effective and selective immunosuppression without direct nephrotoxicity, making it especially suitable for long-term use alongside calcineurin inhibitors such as tacrolimus. In clinical practice, it helps reduce the risk of acute rejection and supports long-term graft survival. The oral capsule formulation allows convenient administration and stable maintenance therapy. Its proven efficacy, tolerability, and compatibility in combination regimens make it a cornerstone drug in modern transplant management.
